For those who do not want to use the cosmetic products found on the market, either because they are expensive or because they contain chemicals, there is an alternative: natural remedies, made at home.

10 of the best remedies for dark circles are cucumbers, potatoes, green tea bags, rose water, almond oil, coconut oil, milk, tomatoes, mint, fenugreek seeds.

The astringent properties of the cucumbers recommend them for this kind of use. Either you slice the cucumber or you use its juice (even combined with lemon juice), you should put it in the refrigerator, then apply it on your eyes (directly, in the case of slices, with the help of a cotton ball when it comes to the juice) for 10-15 minutes. It is recommended to repeat the remedy twice a day for at least a week.

Almost the same operation can be applied to potatoes, which are known for their bleaching properties. After you have kept the potatoes in the refrigerator for an hour, use their juice: apply it around your eyes. It will work during the night – wash it only in the morning, in order to benefit from its effects.

Due to its antioxidants, green tea is also helpful when it comes to dark circles. You can use two green tea bags firstly boiled, then kept into refrigerator for 30 minutes, in order to get rid of this problem. You can do the same with coconut oil, which can be let on the area under your eyes overnight.

Rose water, almond oil and milk can be used as moisturisers; they are very helpful, containing antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and lactic acid. You can use any of them to massage the area under the eyes in the morning and/or before going to bed; wash your face after approx. 15 minutes and repeat the steps for at least 10 days.

In the case of tomatoes and mint, it is recommended to blend each of them (you should add lemon juice in both mixtures) and to use the paste. Apply it under your eyes and wash it off after 15 minutes.

The fenugreek seeds contain vitamin C and potassium. Two teaspoons of these seeds, soaked and then grinded, should be mixed with turmeric powder and milk. The mixture, applied under the eyes, is to be washed off after 15 minutes.

In order to see the effects of all these remedies it is important to keep using them for a week, 10 days or even more. Anyway, they are cheaper than the cosmetic products and present the advantage of not having side effects.
